General Warranty Policy
At AVSTAR, we take pride in our high levels of workmanship and the products we sell. However, if you are dissatisfied with the performance of our work during normal use and operation, the following information is provided as a guide in assisting AVSTAR, and you the customer, to satisfaction.
- Mechanical repairs of structural components1, when performed in-house in accordance with AVSTAR's recommendations, are warranted to be free from defect in AVSTAR's workmanship for a period not to exceed 5 years with no use (time or cycle) limitation.
- Mechanical repairs of dynamic components2, when performed in-house in accordance with AVSTAR's recommendations, are warranted to be free from defect in AVSTAR's workmanship for a period not to exceed 2 years or 1000 hours, whichever occurs first.
- Installation of new or reconditioned parts, components, or materials sold to customer by AVSTAR are warranted to the extent of the manufacturer, reconditioner or supplier warranty. Customer furnished parts are not covered by this warranty pursuant to the Customer Furnished Parts Policy.
- Applicable warranty period for services listed above starts with the date and / or time in service the component or part is returned to service (log book entry recording installation).
- Used or surplus parts installed or sold by AVSTAR are warranted for a period not exceeding 30 days from date of sale; at AVSTAR's discretion, part will be exchanged or purchase price refunded upon AVSTAR's receipt of defective part (less shipping charges), with no labor warranty for removal or reinstallation, allowed.
- In all cases, defect is to be reported to AVSTAR as soon as practical, but no later than 30 days from discovery of defect.
- All warranty claims must be reported to AVSTAR prior to repair by other vendors or repair facilities; it is at the sole discretion of AVSTAR if repair is to be performed by other than AVSTAR.
- This warranty is not inclusive of loss of use, inconvenience, incidental or consequential damage, unless specifically approved by AVSTAR.
- This warranty is not inclusive of labor or parts, of surrounding components, or removal and reinstallation of warranted component or part, unless specifically approved by AVSTAR.
- If the workmanship, part, or component has been subject to modification or alteration, improper use, abuse, or neglect, AVSTAR may, at it's discretion, reject the warranty claim.
1 For the purposes of this warranty, structural components are defined as riveted and / or bolted assemblies, with no moving parts, excepting the component may be moveable, such as flight control surfaces.
2 For the purposes of this warranty, dynamic components are defined as having moving parts, such as landing gear struts, or actuators.
This policy may be amended as required. Current policy amendment date is December 1, 2008.
